An Event for Health Care Professionals
As health care professionals we all strive to be compassionate in our work. We also know that evidence has shown that compassion can lead to improved patient outcomes. Yet, so many external demands can get in the way. How can we remain compassionate without depleting ourselves?
There is more and more evidence that compassion fatigue is a misnomer. We are learning that compassion is protective against components of burnout, including emotional exhaustion and depersonalization. Compassion has also been correlated with increased work engagement.
In this event webinar we will:
- Review evidence around compassion and empathy.
- Debunk myths around compassion and self-compassion
- Learn how to talk with others about compassion as an integral part of our practice and not just a “nice to have”
- Learn some practical tools to cultivate compassion in patient care
- Discuss how to sustain a compassion practice over time
This webinar will also include some short accessible practices as well as an opportunity for Q&A.
