For the last 15 years, Dr. Angela Rose Black has committed her journey to making room for Black women’s voices and experiences in health and wellness research and practice. In 2016, she became the Founder and CEO of Mindfulness for the People LLC—a boutique racial justice and wellbeing firm that offers compassionate mind-body skills training to reduce racial battle fatigue among People of Color and white fragility among White people. As an Activist, Scholar, Practitioner, and Thought Leader in the Mindfulness Movement, Dr. Black radically re-imagines a mindfulness movement where People of Color are central to mindfulness research, teaching, and practice. Her interdisciplinary background in Psychology, Human Development and Family Studies, Women’s Studies, Public Health, and Mind-Body Medicine is supported by training at Tulane University, University of Georgia, University of Illinois, the University of Wisconsin, Stanford, the Mayo Clinic, and the University of Massachussetts.
